Poppy Campaign

Schedule is located in the tab at the top of this page. The password was given to the cadets tonight, but as a hint, it is what they say when they fall out (all lower case). All of our shifts are at Sobeys Long Pond. The shifts on the weekday evenings are 6:00-8:00 (2 hrs) and the weekend shifts are 3 hours. If you have a dress uniform wear that, otherwise wear your Field Training Uniform. Remember to politely refuse to handle any of the money donations and request that they drop it in the tins.

Wednesday, October 23 - PHASE Training

All cadets are required to complete PHASE Training

On Wednesday, all cadets will participate in an introduction to PHASE Training, which stands for Promoting Healthy and Safe Experiences (PHASE). The cadets are then required to complete training in their respective age groups (12-15) and (16-18) in further detail at a future scheduled time.

As well on Wednesday, the cadets will complete a Full Value Contract, in which all cadets and staff will sign, showing our commitment to shared values for the corps, the community, and each other, as we train throughout the year.

The cadets will finish their evening by confirming the details of the Halloween Party / Dance scheduled for the following Wednesday, October 30, 2024.

The Dress of the Day: Civilian attire

Timing: 6:45 - 9:15 pm

Upcoming events:

• Band practice - Tomorrow, Tuesday, October 22: 6:30 - 8:30

• Poppy Campaign - will run from October 25 - November 10. Cadets are encouraged to sign up for at least one shift. All shifts have cadets attend in pairs, as well as an adult staff supervisor. A previous post is being updated as we receive emails from cadets offering their time for available time slots. We will confirm/ finalize this list on Wednesday evening. Unless otherwise stated, these shifts will be at Sobeys in Long Pond.

• Marksmanship and Biathlon practices will continue on Sunday afternoons

Poppy Campaign

Each year we assist our sponsor Branch 50 of the Royal Canadian Legion with their poppy campaign. This year we are assigned to Sobey's Long Pond.

Last night, signup sheets were posted and a lot of the slots were filled in. We still have some slots to fill (below). If you would like to be penciled in, please email the corps email 2562army@cadets.gc.ca and we will update on a first come first serve basis. These volunteer slots count towards career hours for school. A full schedule will be posted when all slots are filled.
